Michael M. M. Anderson is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology. He received his Bachelors of Science in Human Physiology from the University of Iowa (2014).
Michael is a research assistant with the Petersen lab. He has been working with the lab since December of 2015. He enjoys studying the epidemiology of disease transmission from vector to animal to human, and the immunology aspects of the diseases. He plans on attending medical school after earning his MPH. Going into medicine, he loves not only learning about the biology of these diseases, but also how they can be prevented using public health.
“I enjoy working with a broad range of professionals and academics helping promote the concept of One Health. Also, developing a more comprehensive understanding of the impacts of animal health on human health and vice versa. I enjoy the intersection between public health, immunology, and epidemiology. The lab challenges me to think outside the box.” -Michael
