IOHC 2017 was held in the University of Iowa College of Public Health Building on Saturday, October 14th, 2017. The event was open to the public, and the keynote speaker was free. The conference had multiple sessions led by professionals and speakers in various formats to increase studentsā understanding and utility with the One Health concept, so that they may join the larger field and movement of One Health in any way that they wish.
The core developmentĀ of this event was coordinated by the IOHC organizing committee, comprised of recent graduates, graduate students, and undergraduate students from both the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. The committee was recognized by the One Health Commission as the winners of the One Health Day Student Events Competition for setting up an event that brought together a multidisciplinary cast of students in a collaborative effort to illustrate the many health and social science fields that work to improve the health of humans, animals, and the environment. A home of the event was offered by the Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases.
